Do you know what you really hear?
Music is not a parameter
Music is an experience
Music is not a parameter
Music is an experience
The audio industry has measured everything. Except you.
For decades, the audio world chased perfection in numbers: frequency responses, distortion figures, charts. It was a necessary era — it separated engineering from mythology and built the foundations today’s High-End stands on.
But in the race for technical perfection, we lost sight of the most important and most variable element of the entire audio chain: the Listener.
What one person hears as surgical precision, another hears as cold sterility. What one calls power, another calls a loss of control. Nobody is wrong — each of us listens to a different layer of the same truth.
SoundDNA does not reject engineering. It adds the missing link: your sound identity.
One recording. Four listeners. Four truths.
Architect
"Phenomenal production. You can hear every finger sliding on the strings — perfect separation of layers."
Voyager
"I closed my eyes and I was in that hall. The walls of my room simply disappeared."
Companion
"She was singing it to me. A shiver ran through me when I heard her voice right at my ear."
Pulse
"That bass! I felt every hit in my chest. There was no sitting still."
Every one of them is right. They are simply listening to different dimensions of the same music.
Most arguments about gear and recordings are not about their quality — they are about different SoundDNA. That is why a review that thrilled someone else may have misled you: it was written by a person with a different profile of perception.
The experience of music naturally unfolds across four layers. All of them live in every recording — but each of us hears them with different intensity.
No element is better than another — they are four equal perspectives. And most of us are a blended profile: one element leads, another strongly supports, the rest complete the picture.
TEST
Fifteen minutes. A profile for years.
The philosophy of the test: in the physics of sound there is no “everything at once” — every audio system is a sum of trade-offs. So we don’t only ask what you like. We ask what you choose when you have to choose.
Knowledge that comes back to you.
Your profile and unique link
A map of the four elements, your leading archetype, your blended profile — under a permanent address you can share. Your audiophile identity card.
SoundDNA Compatibility
Listening compatibility with anyone who has their link. Four types of pairs, from Identical to Opposite Listeners — and an end to arguing about “who hears it right”.
The Global Map of Perception
An interactive atlas of how the world listens: geographic, genre and gear correlations — live, from the community’s anonymous data.
SoundDNA Journey
Perception matures with you. Retake the test after a while and watch, on a timeline, how the proportions of your elements evolve.
Hardware Matching
Gear recommendations rated by people with your profile — your “acoustic twins” — instead of forum legends written by someone else’s ears.
SoundDNA Harmony
Listening compatibility at home: compare the profiles of the people you live with and find your common sonic ground. Because the best system is the one everyone wants to stay in the room with.

Music and streaming recommendations
Recordings and platforms matched to HOW you listen — not just what.
The labels tell the truth about where things stand: LAUNCH ships with the first version of the test, IN PROGRESS is being built, VISION is the direction we are heading — also thanks to your participation and support.

Rigor over promises.
SoundDNA is an independent non-profit research initiative. The test is and will remain free. Our methodology is public, and we will publish the results of the model’s scientific validation regardless of the outcome — because that is what separates a study from a quiz: a quiz can’t be wrong, because it claims nothing. We make claims, we can be wrong — and that is exactly why you can trust us.
Privacy by architecture, not by declaration: the test requires no email and no personal data. We collect only anonymous context variables (country, gear, genres — always declared by you, never tracked). Your result lives under a unique, unguessable link that belongs to you alone.
(PRE note: The waitlist is the only place where we ask for an email — solely to let you know when we launch. The list lives separately from test results, and you can leave it with one click.)
